Data licensing

Every plan comes with a licence that sets how you may use the data. This page explains them in plain English. The binding text is section 5 of our Terms of Service; where the two differ, the Terms apply.

Personal licence

For your own research. The data is for you alone and may not be used for commercial purposes.

Plans: Pro, Pro + Live, Prime, Prime + Live

Commercial licence

For internal business and commercial use within your organization, such as research and trading at a fund, prop desk or startup.

Plans: Prime + Raw

Institutional licence

A commercial licence on terms agreed in your order form: the entities, teams and uses it covers, alongside the SLA.

Not allowed under any licence

Redistributing, reselling, sublicensing or publishing the data, in whole or in part, raw, modified or derived.
Sharing derived work from which someone else could reconstruct or replace the data.
Building a competing data product or service.
Sharing your account or API key with anyone your licence or team account does not cover.
Getting around the access controls that enforce these limits.

Raw data (trades, quotes and derivatives files) is licensed for your internal research and trading only, and may not be made available to anyone else, including in a form from which it could be rebuilt.
